The winners of this heat were Method, the vocal-instrumental group from Normanton, Yorkshire.

The members of Method were lead singer Mick Brassington (from Altofts), drummer David Symonds (from Garforth), bass guitarist Dave Bulmer (from Castleford) and lead guitarist John Hughes (from Featherstone).

Method decided to audition for New Faces after five auditions for Opportunity Knocks failed to secure them a booking for a TV appearance.  Following their audition at the City Varieties in Leeds earlier in 1975 they were finally booked to make their TV debut.

They had planned to sing their own song, Run, Run, Run, but production problems forced them to change their plans and instead they performed It’s For You, a cover of a Lennon and McCartney composition which was a top ten hit for Cilla Black in 1964.

Despite the group being disappointed with the way the sound had been broadcast they impressed the studio panel and judge Mickie Most was so impressed with their studio performance that he offered the group a recording contract after the show.

The viewer’s winner was Liverpool vocalist and comedian Peter Price.  He went onto record the single Hilda, written about his mother, make television appearances on Celebrity Squares, 3-2-1 and Brookside and he has hosted his own radio talk show on Radio City 96.7 in Liverpool for over 20 years.

Method would appear again in the All Winners Show on 3 May 1975 and Peter Price would make a second appearance on the Viewers Winners Show on 7 June 1975.
